I attended the America Family Pet Expo 2013 in Orange County California over the weekend. The Family Pet Expo is put on by the World Pet Association which is the oldest pet trade group in America.
It was good to see many of the same old faces I have seen in the past and it was great to meet some new faces too.
I always enjoy to talking with the breeders and breed rescue people at this event. Unfortunately there was also the sad news from exhibitors of some regulars that are no longer with us. I never realized before but these dog events are a sort of news event that allow people to catch up with what has been going on throughout the year.
I noticed there were a few exhibitors missing from this year’s expo. One group I wanted to talk to in particular was the Airedale rescue group. In the past I have done quite a bit of training for them. I was hoping to reconnect with Airedale rescue and perhaps start working with them again. Maybe they will be at the event next year.
I enjoyed talking with the German Shepherd Club. But I must have become too involved in the conversation because I did not get any photos of their dogs.
The Blood Hound group was there but the person I was hoping to reconnect with was not at the expo this year. Years ago when I had a TV show on long Beach cable she was a guest and I was hoping to have her on a Google hangout in the near future.
One group I enjoyed chatting with this year was the gal with the Jindo Dogs. After talking with her I am thinking I would really like to visit Korea and get to know the Jindo better.
There were also some interesting Japanese dogs that I was not real familiar with.
All in all it was a good show with interesting people and dog.
I am wishing you the very best in dogs and in life,
