Featured dogs from the dogs community on Google Plus May 22 2013

Dogs community VideoThis video features several from the dogs community that were active on the G+ during the first part of May.

Let me know what kind of videos you would like to see. I will try to start making them. I do need new video equipment, such as a new camera. If I know what people would like to see I can plan on what equipment I will need.

Dogs at Old Town Orange Farmers and Artisans Market

On Saturday May 18, 2013 I attended the 2nd annual Dogit At The Market at the Old Town Orange Farmers and Artisans Market.

This was a small event but well worth it. The most innovative service this event provided is a dog watching service. What is a market dog watching service? Well dogs are only allowed in the dog section. They can’t go into the food areas, so the market provided dog watchers to mind the dogs while the dog parents go shopping. What a great idea. Don’t you think?

I also dog to meet the Southern California Bulldog rescue people and their dogs and the great people from the Wiener Dog Store. I also met a new dog rescue group called Pawsitive Approach Rescue.

Featured Dogs From the Dogs Community April 2013

This post features several dogs from April. I think the most interesting is the Bavarian Mountain Hound. I have never trained one of these dogs. But they are great looking hounds.

There are also quite a few of the regular dogs in this video slideshow. I have noticed that we have some new regulars. It is always good to see new members become active in the community, it’s like having new friends.

G+ Dogs Community

I still really enjoy seeing all the dogs and especially the active members, but I am looking for few moderators to help manage the community. If you are interested in helping it would be ideal if you have been a community member for a little while so you have a feel for how I manage the group. There is defiantly a community culture.

Grand Opening for Dirty Paws

I attended the Grand Opening for Dirty Paws in Long Beach California over the weekend. It was not the biggest grand opening I have been to, but it was fun and there were dogs and cats. We also had food and they had some really yummy cookies, both for people and for dogs.

One of the highlights of the day was the great mobile doggy photo studio. This motor home photo studio was something to see. It had several customized sets to give the extra cute look to already cute pets.

One of the people I most enjoyed chatting with and watching was the pet caricature artist at the event. It is always amazing to watch a few lines turn into a work of art. He even did a drawing of me. I will try to post it on my personal blog a bit later in the week.

Family Pet Expo Video 2 and New Weekend Event

I am going to attend a grand opening / open house for a new pet grooming shop this weekend. It is this new event that made me think I really need to post the second video for last week’s Family Pet Expo from Orange County.

Long Beach is one of my favorite cities. My family has been in Long Beach for a while. I hope to have some old time dog photos for the website sometime in the future. If I ever get My own TV program this might even make a good Dogs By Andrew episode. Would you like to see Dogs By Andrew TV?

The open house will be at Dirty Paws 4501 E Carson Way, Long Beach, CA
If you are in the area come on down and say hi. I will try to get pictures and post them on the Dogs community and this blog.

Long Beach Pet Expo February 2, 2013

Welcome to the Long Beach Pet Expo. in beautiful Southern
Welcome to the Long Beach Pet Expo. in beautiful Southern California

I attended the Long Beach Pet Expo on Saturday. As I first went into the building I met my cousin and an old friend I haven’t seen in some time. They said they thought I would be there. There were a lot of dogs both pets and dogs up for adoption. Two of my favorite local dog adoption groups were at the pet expo. You ask what are these two adoption groups? Well West side German Shepherd Rescue and German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County of course.

I saw a few demonstrations in a little doggy demonstration area and a TV celebrity from the Pit Boss was there as well. I also heard a few people talking about and giving general dog advice on the presentation stage.

Overall the show was not real big, but it was enjoyable. There were a lot of people selling products and services. I would classify it as a medium sized show. I am sure it will grow over the years.

I was listening to a dog trainer talk about his training style and I had a new insight into why I don’t like the term positive dog training. He is not what I think of when I hear the term positive dog trainer. Nor do I believe the general public thinks of his style of training as positive. Maybe there’s more than one thing I discovered about why I don’t like the term positive dog training. One strike against the term is it has created a propaganda war within the dog training industry. I hope to write about my this new insight on my dog training website OCDogTraining.com

Pet Oxygen Masks

I had a nice chat with a rescue lady and several of the venders. I hope to review at least one of the new products I saw at the show in the near future.

One of the more unusual products was a pet oxygen mask. I did not get a chance to talk with these people, but it looked interesting.

January 17, 2013 Dogs Community on Google Plus Video

Today’s video is another longer version. I am thinking of doing two if I have time. Otherwise we will be doing slightly longer versions. This one is a minute and twenty-five seconds. I like to keep them just under a minute. If you have suggestions I would like to hear your opinion.

I think your dog will stand our more if you post larger photos I believe around 700 pixels wide. I am not sure how tall posted photos can be.

Enjoy

Wednesday 1-16-13 on the G+ Dogs Community

The sad news is another member posted in the rainbow Bridge category and informed us that they lost their dog today. I would sure rather be doing birthday greeting than reporting sad news. One of the things about a community is that we share both the good times and the bad time together. I feel for all those who have lost a loved one.

I do have a new video done for Wednesday the 16th of January. Included in this video is a photo of the dog who pasted away. This video is longer than usual. I didn’t quite have enough photos for two videos.

Tuesday 14, 2013 on the Google Plus Dogs Community

We have another doggy video for your enjoyment. There is a series of nice German Shepherd photos in this video. and Yes a whole bunch of other cute dog too.

We did not have any reported birthdays on the Dogs community today. However, we did have one dog pass away. It always saddens me when I hear about and think of a loved pet passing.

New Video 2 from Monday 1-14-13

New video from the Google Plus Dogs Community. This is video 2 from the late afternoon and evening of Monday 1-14-13. I was experimenting with getting videos put together more quickly. i believe I have figured out a way to quickly get the photos into the video. Now I am working on changing audio quicker and then I will try to come up with a system for the other elements.
